    Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) is widely used in the field of mechanical processing.

    The following are its specific applications:

    • 1. Cutting processing:

      ① Processing hardened steel:

    CBN cutting tools can perform efficient cutting on steel after quenching. For example, parts such as the crankshaft and camshaft of automobile engines have a hardness of up to HRC50-65 after quenching. Using CBN cutting tools can achieve high-speed cutting, and the cutting speed can be several times higher than that of traditional cutting tools, which greatly improves the processing efficiency while ensuring the processing accuracy and surface quality.

     ② Cutting cast iron parts:

    In the processing of cast iron parts, CBN cutting tools have good wear resistance and impact resistance. For example, in the processing of cast iron parts such as machine tool beds and engine blocks, CBN cutting tools can reduce tool wear, improve the flatness and smoothness of the processed surface, and reduce processing costs.

    ③ Cutting superalloys:

    For superalloy materials commonly used in the aerospace field, such as nickel-based alloys and cobalt-based alloys, CBN cutting tools can withstand high temperature and high cutting forces. In the processing of parts such as aircraft engine blades and turbine discs, it can effectively solve the problems of easy wear and low processing efficiency when using traditional cutting tools, and improve the processing quality and production efficiency.

     ④ Cutting titanium alloys:

    Titanium alloys have characteristics such as high strength, high hardness, and strong chemical activity, and are difficult to process. CBN cutting tools can achieve stable cutting at a relatively low cutting speed, reduce the adhesive and diffusive wear between the tool and the workpiece, improve the processing accuracy and surface quality, and are widely used in the processing of titanium alloy parts in fields such as aerospace and medical devices.

    • 2. Grinding processing:

    ① Cylindrical grinding:

    In the cylindrical grinding of mechanical parts, CBN grinding wheels can be used to grind various shaft parts, such as motor shafts, transmission shafts and so on. Compared with ordinary grinding wheels, CBN grinding wheels have high grinding efficiency, can realize high-speed grinding, reduce the occurrence of grinding burns and cracks, and improve the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of parts.

    ② Internal grinding:

    For some parts with inner holes, such as inner rings of bearings and sleeves, CBN internal grinding tools can conduct high-precision internal grinding. It can improve the surface smoothness of the inner holes while ensuring the dimensional accuracy of the inner holes, reduce the surface roughness, and meet the high-precision assembly requirements of parts.

    ③ Surface grinding:

    In fields such as mold manufacturing and mechanical part processing, high-precision grinding of planes is required. CBN surface grinding tools can achieve efficient and high-precision surface grinding, improve the flatness and perpendicularity of planes, reduce the grinding allowance, and improve the processing efficiency and quality.

    ④ Centerless grinding:

    CBN centerless grinding tools are suitable for grinding shaft parts in large quantities and with high precision, such as bearing rollers and piston pins. They can achieve automatic centering and high-precision grinding on centerless grinding machines, improving the production efficiency and the consistency of product quality.

    • 3. Ultra-precision machining:

    ① Processing of optical lenses:

    In the field of optical lens manufacturing, CBN cutting tools can be used in processing procedures such as cutting, grinding and polishing of lenses. For example, for high-precision camera lens elements and telescope lenses, the CBN ultra-precision machining technology can achieve a surface roughness at the nanometer level and a shape accuracy at the sub-micron level, meeting the requirements of optical lenses for high imaging quality.

    ② Processing of precision molds:

    In the manufacturing of precision molds, such as injection molds and stamping molds, the CBN ultra-precision machining technology can be used to machine key parts such as mold cavities and cores. By precisely controlling the machining parameters, the micro-nano structure processing on the mold surface can be achieved, improving the demolding performance of the molds and forming quality of products, and producing plastic products and metal stamping parts with high precision and complex shapes.
